Got placed in Amazon!!!

Hello there,
         This is Sneeya again and as promised i'm writing about my interview experience.
So here i am.First of all it was an amazing experience.We went to Pune by Bolero.There were ten of us.Reached around 10 o clock.Early morning drives are so pretty!!We used Google Navigation to find PCCOE..got caught by Traffic Police in PC and had to pay fine :(
         When we reached we didn't know what to do as a lot of stuff was going on in that place.Gathering practice of small kids..Days celebration of college students and classes of some diploma and engineering students all at the same time!!Finally found our building and we were already late.I saw the HR people of Amazon passing by with two huge travelling bags(wow moment ☆).One had worn a black T-shirt of Amazon.
         So when we went up after registrations and documents done presentation had started.It was the same Guy who had worn that black Amazon T-shirt.(Later found out his name.)He was pretty cool and introduced us to all the workings of Amazon and its products and our job role.

         The interview process started immediately.All the students were broken down into groups of five and seated on the stage for the Introduction round. My number was 202 so it was gonna be a while before our turn came so we went outside to canteen and hung out here and there.I was late for mine(that's another story :D).

          So i went on the stage and got seated and the only thing the HR lady(she was really polite and cute) asked me was to introduce myself.So i did and so did the others.Most of the people in our group were from my college and two of them got nervous so didn't speak much unfortunately.She told me to go and wait as i was selected for the next round.

        Now for the next round i,Sudarshan and Sonal were selected.So we filled this form given to us.Then we were taken to the next round which was a Written Versant one.I and Sonal wanted to sit next to each other but couldn't. She had to wait as there wasn't any PC's with the s/w remaining.

          There were three mini rounds and they were all time tied.First one was a fill in the blanks which was confusing.Second was to rewrite paragraphs given in our own words as fast and accurately as possible.Third was to write an email on the given condition in 9 minutes.So they were kinda tough as you had to read,process and type in a very short amount of time that too on the PC keyboards with huge keys(felt like drilling into the keyboard).Now we were taken to the TPC department for results.By this time i was really tired.

          Now something really weird happened,i had gone out just for some time and i got a call from Sud and said i was asked for by the HR lady.So i went and had to go inside a room full of aspiring candidates and the HR managers sitting in the middle of the room.She(this was another sweet lady) made me sit down,by now i was really confused didn't know what was wrong and everybody was staring at me.So she asked me how was my round and what question was asked to me for email writing.(This i figured was to soften whatever was coming next).She told me that somehow my marks were not calculated due to some technical error.The only thing i asked was whether i was disqualified.She said i wasn't but i would have to take the test again.I was fine by that as i didn't wanted to go out of the process.

          I was taken to some cabin and when i logged in it again logged out.This time all the student coordinators came and comforted me as i looked visibly agitated.So the lady came again and logged in through the main versant website.Now it started.As i had an experience already with this round i kept on furiously typing as soon as i saw the questions.The questions were all different but of the same kind.My friends(Vru,RO,Pooni,Sonu)would all try to figure out whats going on and why i was sitting there again.

          After this i asked the coordinator whether i could take a break as i was "kinda hungry"(yes i said that) and he told me i could take a ten minutes break.I went,ate with ro and came back.This was final round and was gonna be mixed.I sat down in the same room full of candidates again.I was told to write an essay on any topic.So i chose "My favorite TV series" and wrote about TVF pitchers.I wonder if anyone read it.(I hadn't written an essay in years!!!).

            I met some nice guys from another colleges and we discussed about everything going on.This guy next to me was really scared as he had messed up his voice test.Now it was time for OPerations manager round where the guy next to me was asked to introduce himself in Hindi(omg).Even Sud had to face the same thing.He later told me that he had messed up his Hindi with English words in each sentences and that how poor his Hindi was(lol.)

               I went to the OP round and sat down.The manager was a bit busy.Then he asked me some questions like why Amazon,where i live,how would i work in Pune,about night shifts(i said i'm a nightowl which is true) and other stuff.He told me to ask him any question.I asked whether he was bored(i didn't know what else to say).He told me that he liked to interview people so he wasn't. Then he said that there was some situation he had to handle and so he had to wrap it up as soon as possible.So i said no more questions.Then i left.

         Waited for some more time and was told to take the voice test.It was fun and easy.Three mini rounds again.Repeat the sentence...answer the question in one word and then rearrange the sentence properly.Then the time for results arrived and they called me,Sud and two others.We were hired!!It was such an amazing feeling.I had seen such bad days in 2016 that this placement made my day!!We were given LOI and Amazon side bags(gift).Salary structure was explained.I shook hands with all the HR managers.They had been really friendly,supportive and really cool.Then we left.

           Our Friends started posting our placement news on all the WhatsApp groups.Even our principal. Among the 300 students who appeared,31 were placed and 2 were from our college..me and Sud. Base pay 2lpa,travelling,food coupons and incentives extra(around 2.5lpa).It was an amazing experience.All my friends waited whole day for us(esp VRU n Ro,Sonu,Pooni,MAhi).So thankful to them.We had our dinner at this small but awesome food canteen which had cheap chicken which was yummmm(in chakan).Great end to a great day.

So that was my first job interview.I hope i'll have lots more to tell. BuBYee.
